Skin tags, or acrochordons, are benign, pedunculated lesions that often occur around the neckline, waistband or bra lines, where the edges of clothes rub against the skin. Though not cancerous, they can be irritating and unsightly. They are easily removed under local anesthesia and often do not require stitches after they are removed.
